Description:

Uber’s Communication Platform powers millions of interactions — SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications, chat, and voice calls — connecting users seamlessly across products. As a Data Scientist 1, you will work on improving the reliability, deliverability, and efficiency of communication systems while also optimizing cost.

Your contributions will directly impact trip conversions, customer engagement, and ultimately Uber’s growth. This role blends analytics, experimentation, and product problem-solving to make every communication more impactful.

In this role, you’ll:

• Build scalable frameworks for product analytics.
• Own and manage product experiments, from design to execution and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and data) to ensure data quality and solve data issues.
• Define and track KPIs to measure communication platform performance.
• Turn raw data into actionable insights and partner with teams to drive change.
• Establish strong data quality standards and frameworks for pipeline engineering.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years OR Master’s degree with 1+ year in data-focused roles (analytics, operations, or data science).
• Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or Economics.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and query optimization.
• Programming skills in Python or R.
• Experience working in a Product/Tech company serving large-scale users.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a love for data-driven decision-making.
